This movie could have been better if it stuck to the actual history and great achievements of Harriet Tubman. It could have been a better period piece and showcased more of the brutality and tribulations endured by Harriet (and slaves during this period). It felt slow at times, jumped around, and did not give enough time to William Still and Marie Buchanan. The antagonistic slave owner Gideon Brodess was unconvincing and fell very flat.
